The Committee had the following three events:
IRAN BY ROAD
The year started with a talk by avid motorist and Autocar magazine editor Hormazd Sorabjee who spoke extensively about on a once-in-a-lifetime drive through the heart and soul of Iran in a convoy of six Mercedes SUVs. The pictorial talk was attended by many Rotarians and their spouses at the lovely home of Rtns. Arin and Zeenia Master. The presentation was humorous, engaging and showcased the rich culture and history of this often misunderstood country. The audience listened to interesting episodes about Iran and saw images of stunning landscapes and architecture. The programme ended with a lively Q&A session in which Rotarians who had visited Iran also shared their experiences. Rtns. Arin and Zeenia had thoughtfully provided cocktails and a delicious Parsi and Irani meal which paired well with the talk on Iran!

HYDERABAD OF THE NIZAM
The second event was a talk on Hyderabad of the Nizam by an erudite author, Ms. Deepthi Sasidharan, held on October 16th, 2019 and hosted by Rtn. Ptn. Zarina and PE Rtn.Framroze Mehta at their residence.
Ms. Deepthi, an expert on history, was able to tell us a lot about the Nizam, his palace, his women, their clothing and jewellery, etc.

It gave us a wonderful insight into the opulent life and times of the Nizams.

HOW TO BE HEART SMART
A talk by Rtn. (Dr.) Sharukh Golwalla, a practicing cardiologist for 35 years discussed relevant issues in cardiac health and was held on February 13th, 2020. Sharukh spoke about health and fitness with useful tips and valuable advice and the talk brought many eye-openers including the Holiday Heart Syndrome. The members enjoyed the warm hospitality of Rtn. Ptn. Honey and Rtn. Anil Harish at their residence. Unfortunately the other talks which were planned could not be held due to the lockdown.
