PROJECT AASHIYANA – DISTRICT 3141
500 new houses will be constructed in Wada, Palghar District, Maharashtra for 500 socially-disadvantaged families. These low-cost shelters, which will include toilets, are being built under the Pradhanmantri Aavas Yojana, where the cost of each house is Rs 2,25,000/-, of which the Government pays Rs 1,37,000/-, the beneficiary’s share is Rs 18,000/- and Rotary contributes Rs 70,000/-. Senior Rotarians who are in the structural and construction business will supervise the work which will be done by reliable contractors who have worked with Rotary for the last 10 years on various Global Grants projects.

Rotary Club of Bombay has sponsored 7 houses at a total contribution of Rs.4,90,000/-.

PROJECT ROTARY ANGELS – DISTRICT 3141
The Angels project, a dream child of DG Sunnil Mehra, aims at providing much-needed help to the poorest of the poor, those at the bottom of the pyramid. The model is simple, each Club donates at least Rs 3,000/- per month or Rs 36,000/- per annum to the District Fund. Many Clubs have donated generously and far in excess of the expected amount.

Applications for amounts not exceeding Rs 15,000/- are invited for causes such as education, medical emergencies, and even basic rations and approvals are given within three days.

The Rotary Club of Bombay has, this year, contributed Rs 1,89,000/- towards this District Project and everyone involved has turned out to be a Rotary Angel.
