Major Green Initiative by Environment Committee

The Environment Committee Of RCB Chaired by Rajesh Shah and guided by Director Madhusudhan Daga is on a roll.

This time around they have signed an MOU for a major initiative at the Museum.

Of the Rs. 50 lac sanctioned for this unique project Rs. 30 lac has been raised by a generous donation from Rtn. Manoj Israni.

A Memorandum of Understanding was executed by Rotary Club of Bombay, Rotary Club Bombay, Charities Trust No 3 and The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya–CSMVS (formerly known as The Prince Of Wales Museum) in May 2018. The main objective of the MOU is to qualify for Platinium Certification which is the highest level of certification under Environment Management endorsed and awarded by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Ecofirst Services Limited (A Tata Group Enterprise) are the consultants for the project and will advise and help in executing the following at the CSMVS Museum Complex at Fort, M G Road Mumbai 400001 to achive the desired certification.

1. Installation of Solar PV System. The additional capacity being added is around 35 KW.
2. Upgrading the Scroll Chiller System.
3. Augment current Rain Water Harvesting System.
4. To make provision for Sewage Treatment plant and Metering, etc,

RCB has agreed to support this project financially to the extent of Rs 50 lakhs. Launching, Branding and Publication rights for the project are accorded to Rotary Club of Bombay under the MOU. The full project implementation will take about 12 to 18 months. Upon receipt of Platinium Certification it will make CSMVS the first Museum in India to have been so acknowledged.
