MISSING YOU!

I just have to write about last Tuesday afternoon: what a joyful time we had, meeting and greeting each other after so many months. And as I watched Sabi and Sheila and then Roda walk in, I was filled with nostalgia and the warm feeling of meeting old friends again.

Though we may not meet outside our Tuesday afternoons, there is a special bond or kinship that forms between Rotarians that I believe will stay forever.

We were only a few of us but the Rendezvous seemed full and buzzing with the chatter of excited Rotarians happy to see their buddies again!

As I went around the room urging people to eat, to fulfill the minimum guarantee the Taj expected, to provide us with this perfectly appointed setting, I heard a stern voice say: “I may not be the Seargent-at-Arms, Madam President but it is 1.40.” It was Roda, and how happy I was to be admonished as we readied to take the stage.

Notwithstanding the warm and wise speaker we had that afternoon, I believe we were all very pleased to start our Tuesday afternoons and, in some ways, to put the pandemic behind us!

I would like to thank the Taj Hotel for hosting us in their own special way and providing us with the highly subsidised and impeccable service they do.

A special thanks to Farhat for getting us our Tuesdays back. Now, all that’s left is for you Rotarians to come back and restart our fellowship from where we left off!
