I’m sure you’ll have noticed that the horse-drawn Victoria’s are no longer seen on our roads.
You don’t have to cringe at the sight of those poor horsespulling obscene loads, or standing in the scorching heat or pouring rain.
It took PETA a long and arduous legal battle to reach this happy ending. And they were helped in some measureby the donations made by the Animal Welfare Committee of the Rotary Club of Bombay for a few years. And the warriors who identified this problem and saw to it that the money was sent to PETA were Priyasri Patodia and Hiren Kara. It is because of the efforts of such people and many others who we don’t know, that this herculean task was completed, and I salute them.
