Vol. 59 No. 12 • September 19, 2017
Dear friends,
The Animal Welfare Committee has kicked off an ambitious plan for the year ahead. Chaired by Bipin Vazirani and Priyasri Patodia, the Committee has kicked off a community project along with the Cuffe Parade Residents Association (CPRA) to sterilize approximately 55 stray cats in the neighbourhood.
They will also be donating a couple of animal ambulances in the next couple of months to deserving NGO’s and lending a helping hand to the well known Welfare of Stray Dogs (WSD) to renovate some of their facilities.
The activities will not just provide much needed assistance to the animals but also to the community. And of course, it will endear the Rotary Club of Bombay to the lay citizens in the community.
A win-win situation indeed.
This week we kick off a new feature in the Gateway; Situations Available/Vacant.
Please follow it and send me not just your views on it, which I welcome, but please do see if you can place any of these deserving candidates in your offices and factories.
This week we have highlighted the case of a Bhavishya Yaan Alumni Irfan. He has been hand-held by our caring mentors through his college life and now, as a BSc. I.T. graduate he is looking for a good job.
So the Bhavishya Yaan program is working not just in the schools, but is providing a watchful eye and scholarships to its alumni to take them through college, and now, if we can help these deserving underprivileged young men and women to get jobs, we would be really taking our efforts to their logical conclusion.
Please do see if you’ll can absorb these candidates.
Also, feel free to send in details regarding situations vacant in your companies. We will carry these in the Gateway free of charge for a period of three months and then review the situation. This offer is open only to members of the RCB of course.
