Assimilation dinner at PP Rtn. Nirav Shah’s residence

 In Fellowship

The first event from the Assimilation Committee was held at PP Rtn. Nirav Shah’s (Co-chair Assimilation Committee) residence on 13th July 2018.

Nirav and Devina are not only the warmest and caring hosts but are also the finest food connoisseurs. Thus, this event was set-up to begin the Assimilation Committee’s ‘Big- Bang’ start for the year 2018 – 19.

The evening began with about 70 Rotarians and Spouses in attendance. After all the Rotarians and their spouses had introduced themselves, President Vijay Jatia and PP Rtn. Sandeep Agarwalla spent about half an hour talking about Rotary. They spoke about how the Rotary movement began, talked about the Rotary Foundation and the merits of being a Rotarian.

They also heard from a number of Rotarians on what they are looking for, from the Rotary Club of Bombay. It was a wonderful exchange of ideas.

Once this was done, the members were encouraged to mingle and get to know each other while live music played in the background. This was followed by one of the most sumptuous meals overseen by not only Devina, but also Nirav’s Cordon Bleu trained mother Arunikaben.

The evening ended with Nirav cutting a cake to welcome his birthday over some music and dancing. All in all, it was a wonderful evening and we hope to have many more over the rest of the year
