Assimilation with the twist of a ribbon

 In Other Projects

In its attempt to encourage members to mix and interact, members of the Assimilation Committee, with Manoj Patodia, co-Chairman, stood at the registration counter at the meeting of August 11 and requested members, as they trooped in, to pick a ribbon of any one of four colours. These were then pinned on their sleeves. As they approached the lunch tables, they were encouraged to sit at those tables that had ribbons with similar colours. Rotaryann Kanan Fotedar had been hard at work assigning colours to each table. Soon after the meeting was called to order, President Dr. Sonya Mehta had one ribbon picked and announced that those seated at the table with ribbons of that particular colour, would be given the ecofriendly gifts contributed by Manoj’s sister, Ms Suchita Swaika.

The winners (those with brown ribbons) included Framroze Mehta, Pashupati Advani and Bijal Kara. Although PP Paul George claimed a brown ribbon, Dr. Sonya declared him “Out!” because she had not seen him sitting at the brown table. Paul took it sportingly.
