Appeal for Chennai Flood Relief

 In Other Projects

The past few weeks has our TV screens bleeding with the ghastly catastrophe that Chennai has been dealing with. Apart from the huge loss of life, thousands of people have been fighting for their very survival, stranded without bereft of food, clothing, drinking water, medical care and shelter. A disaster of this magnitude needs even greater support from us all and unfailingly, in keeping with the true spirit of Rotary, the Rotary Club of Bombay is working on a direct initiative with the Rotary Club of Madras to provide relief to the devastating tragedy that has submerged Chennai. The RCB had earlier partnered with them during the unfortunate Tsunami that had swept away entire fishing villages, and we successfully played helped in rebuilding houses and lives of one such village.

Once again the RCB will unite with them and employ its excellent on-ground knowledge and skills, and help reconstruct lives and homes in Chennai. A vehement call is sent out to all our Rotarians to open your hearts and purse strings to donate generously for this good cause. Please send your cheques made out to ‘Rotary Club Bombay Charities Trust No.3’ to the Rotary office with a note earmarking the same to the Chennai Flood Relief effort. Kudos to Rtn. Suresh Gokhlaney, who along with Eureka Forbes, despatched two truckloads of drinking water relief to the Rotary Club of Madras in support of their efforts. We will keep our members updated with regard to all ongoing efforts and developments.
