Ambedkar School goes to see Shiamak Davar Show!
58 students of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar school were invited by Victory Arts to a Shiamak Davar production at the St Andrews auditorium last Wednesday. The show was spectacular considering that the performers were mostly mentally and physically challenged children from various NGOs. The Shiamak Davar troupe itself was exceptional. The children danced and clapped to the beat of the music. The BY children thoroughly enjoyed the show and were delighted to see a professional production. Thank you Shiamak!

BY Students go to the movies!
Our Rotary Anne Vandana Daga celebrated her birthday on 4th November by sending BY children for a movie. We are very thankful to the generous owner of INOX-Dadar, Mrs. Nayantara Jain, a friend of Vandana for sponsoring 35 children and providing them free popcorn, samosas and coke without which watching any movie is incomplete at any age. The children thoroughly enjoyed the movie “Golmaal Again”. The staff of Inox were courteous. Mr. Parshuram personally took care of making all the children comfortable and even agreeing to their request of keeping a little longer interval as they did not want to miss the movie so they could use the restrooms and explore the area. They let the children take photographs inside the theatre. It was a lovely multiplex experience for most of the children.

GK Marg takes on a Soccer Challenge!
Bhavishya Yaan team from GK Marg Municipal School participated in the under-14 category, in the biggest soccer challenge in Mumbai. The 9th edition of the QPR South Mumbai Junior Soccer Challenger 2017 – A Milind Deora initiative, has kicked off in style with as many as 6500 kids from 160 schools representing 800 teams participating in this championship. 85% of the participants are from municipal & government aided schools with as many as 28% being girls. Bhavishya yaan team won two matches and lost the third. They were very excited about getting the full soccer kit for free and seeing a large, cheerful and an enthusiastic crowd to challenge their skills.

We thank Rotarian Sanjiv Saran for giving Bhavishya Yaan this opportunity and providing free uniforms and soccer shoes.
