Brilliant Joint Initiative by BY & Akshaya Patra Committees!

 In Bhavishya Yaan

In a one-of-its-kind joint venture between two of RCB’s dynamic Committees – Bhavishya Yaan and Akshaya Patra – it will be Advantage:Children! The two Committees have come together and will provide nutrition to Bhavishya Yaan’s students. As a pilot project, the committees started with catering to approximately seventy-five to eighty students from the G K Marg School from the 14th March 2016. Seasonal fruits and nuts would be provided to the children on all school working days. BY’s GK Marg School will maintain records of the height and weight of students, and alongside this data, they will also maintain a similar record within the same age group of about twenty-five students of BY’s NMJ School students, to establish the effectiveness of the Program. Positive results are expected from the pilot study and after inculcating the required fine tuning, the joint program will be carried over to likewise benefit the students of four other BY Schools.

The programme was flagged off on the 14th of March, 2016 with full vigour and zeal, as all eighty children were happy to receive a variety of fruits (in a week ) which otherwise wouldn’t form part of their diet. PP Rtn. Harry Singh Arora from Akshaya Patra Committee inaugurated the project and infused his quintessential high energy into the classroom, which had a fabulous effect on everyone, especially mesmerising all with his effervescent attitude and energetic dancing! His heartfelt speech encouraged children to follow their desires by starting small but staying committed.

He explained shared the good work that the Akshay Patra Committee is doing and how the basic project grew from the start. The programme was attended by Bhavishya Yaan Joint Chair, Rtn. Rajesh Shah and his wife R/anne Asha Shah, who is also a volunteer at GK Marg for the BY Programme; the vibrant GK Marg Coordinators, R/annes Ekta Shah and Avaan Vakharia. All eighty BY children were present, of which two girls came up and gave a confident vote of thanks in English and they presented a thank you card that they made themselves for the Akshay Patra Committee, to show their appreciation and gratitude for this brilliant joint-venture Program. Kudos to the joint efforts of both the Committees that continue spreading the desire to ‘learn more effectively with a healthy body’!
