RCB participates in Mega Medical Camp

A medical camp was held at the Phoenix Mega Medical Camp, held from January 18 to 20, 2019 at Phoenix Mill compound, Lower Parel, Mumbai. The Rotary Club of Bombay organised for a team of specialists from the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute to arrange the facilities at the camp, and attend and manage all walk-ins.

They gave free service to members of our community on “Yoga Therapy and Yoga Culture of Life”.

The concept of holding a medical camp was begun in 2007 by the Rotary Club of Bombay Queen City. The Rotary Club of Bombay added “Yoga Therapy” services since 2011-12 and about 2,500 members have taken advantage of the medical camp for various therapeutic benefits such as eye check-up, dental, asthma, orthopaedic, diabetes, cancer, Ayurveda, skin & hair related therapies, yogic therapy, suyog therapy, varicose veins, Jaipur foot callipers, acupressure, etc.,

The first day of the free medical camp started with an inauguration ceremony by the Chief Guest DG Rtn. Shashikumar Sharma, Dist. 3141 and Rtn. Sitaram B. Shah of the Rotary Club of Bombay.

President Vijay Jatia of the Rotary Club of Bombay and Rtn. Ramesh Mehta were also present for the inauguration.
They were supported by RCB staff. The following officers participated on behalf of Kaivalyadhama: Dr. Nutan Pakhare (PRO) Dr. G.P. Shukla (Asst. Director), Dr. Animesh Karmarkar (Ayurvedic doctor) and Dr. Shushma (Ayurvedic doctor) along with supporting staff.

After the inauguration, the chief guest, the presidents and project leader from the Rotary Club of Bombay Queen City and a few more Rotarians visited each stall. They also visited the RCB stall on yoga and expressed satisfaction with RCB’s involvement in yoga-related science and service.

Many patients visited the stall. The patients were first checked by doctors and then by the yoga teachers who taught them practices beneficial to their health and also explained the concept of yoga. A lot of information on yoga-related practices was provided to visitors on all three days.

A TOTAL OF 150 PEOPLE VISITED THE RCB STALL DURING THE THREE DAYS FOR BENEFITS OF YOGA THERAPIES. THE ENTIRE CAMP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS.
