BY Students Go Crackers At Parle Biscuit Factory!

 In Bhavishya Yaan

In keeping with Bhavishya Yaan’s steadfast commitment towards children, the Committee organized a trip to the famous Parle Biscuit Factory on the 6th of February for the students of Ambedkar School Worli, NMJ and GK Marg Schools. Approximately 250 students, accompanied by their teachers, shared the trip which turned out to be quite amusing and informative for all. A one-of-its-kind excursion, the students were truly amazed to witness the workings of the giant food producing brand, Parle that touches all our lives daily! Four busses full of over-excited children left from the Jumbury Maidan, Worli escorted by Rotoryannes Avan Vakharia and Jaya Prasad. They made the journey via the Sea Link as most students had not traveled through it or only seen it from a distance. This resulted in immense exhilaration amongst the children as the bus passed through the Link. And since no journey is complete without fun snacks, the students were given cake and soft drinks which had the energy soaring even more!

The staff of the Parle Biscuit Factory were there to welcome everyone and they started off by presenting an Audio Visual on the making of the factory and its various products. An interactive session followed where the students gained immense insight and knowledge as also answered various questions. They were then shown the entire process live of the making of Parle G Biscuits, including the molding, baking, cutting, packaging, and then finally being put into the cartons to be shipped to retailers. No cell phones were allowed inside the factory.

As they were leaving the factory to get into the bus to return each and every student was given a packet of Parle G along with a Parle Chocolate. As soon as the cell phones were returned, it was time for selfies and group pics! The return journey from Parle was made via Band Stand (Bandra) where again there was a surge of excitement amongst students as the bus drove past the two Bollywood star residences, even though the actors were not spotted. And so came to an end, yet another thrilling and informative outing for the BY students, as they were safely escorted back to school.
